First Bank in the European Biometric ATM InstalledConnecticut cooperative banks in Poland, said to be the first bank in Europe that have installed biometric ATMs, enabling customers to withdraw money using only one finger.

Digital scanner from an ATM, located in Warsaw, working with the latest technology, ‘finger vein (finger vein)’, an authentic system developed by Japanese technology giant Hitachi.

A fingerprint scan infrared light to detect the unique pattern of micro blood vessels beneath the skin surface, which is then compared with pre-registered profile to verify individual identity.

“This technique is far more reliable than fingerprints,” he told CNN’s Peter Jones, president of security solutions and Hitachi in Europe.

“Our tests indicate the level of acceptance that one in a million, a figure as reliable as reading the iris, which is considered the safest method.”

Unlike fingerprints, which leaves no trace and can potentially be played, the radius of blood vessels is not possible to reproduce because they are below the skin surface.
