A new study is showing that the use of driver gadgets has increased; however, this may not be true of fleet drivers. The study asked 1,106 fleet customers if fleets had sat nav and hands free kits in their cabs. Roughly 470 drivers or 42 per cent of cab drivers were found to have satellite navigation and hands free kits. About 25 per cent of fleet drivers felt these tools were imperative in order to have safety.
Even small businesses are realising that their drivers need to have vehicle tracking and satellite navigation to help make drivers safe. If customers and drivers are safe, then small business insurance costs can be reduced making it easier to keep up with the budget. It is also a way for everyone to trust the company they are with.
